Sunday Night at Home

February 13, 1994

The road-warrior has had his wings clipped, and is sitting at home in New York, surrounded by large mounds of snow. I was supposed to be sitting on a beach in Antigua, sipping pina coladas with my wife ... but the East Coast snowstorm made it impossible for me to get back from Dallas, and also cancelled our vacation flight out of JFK. We probably could have made it out of town on Sunday (this morning), but the weather people had predicted another blizzard for today, so we decided to not even bother.

As a result, it now looks like I'll be home for almost 14 consecutive days. Gadzooks! What will I do with all of this time at home base? Not only that, but most of my clients and business friends still think that I'm on vacation for the first few days of next week, so I can sit here quietly in my office and catch up with all those dozens of things on my "to-do" list that I pushed down below the "critical" level.
