Road Warrior vs. The Hotel

September 18, 1995

For the last several years, I've incorporated a story here that I had picked up on one of the CompuServe discussion forums about the experiences we road-runners often face in hotels around the world. All along, I had acknowledged that it was not a story I had written about my own personal experiences, but what I assumed was an "urban folklore" rendition of a common experience.

In June 2002, I was informed that the story had actually written by a comedian named Shelly Berman, under the heading "Little Bars of Soap," in a book entitled A Hotel is a Funny Place. The story is copyrighted, and hence it's obviously not appropriate for me to reproduce here as if it were my own. Instead, I encourage you to visit Mr. Berman's website, where you can read the original story, by its original author.
